Technical requirements

Webserver requirements

The following technical requirements apply for using the Meffert job board on your Webserver (usually via your provider). Please check with your provider in advance:

  • LINUX or Windows OS
  • Apache Webserver (Version 2 or higher)
  • PHP Version 5
  • Rights to set up files with write authorisation (CHMOD)
  • Minimum 50 MB of Web-Space
  • The php-variable "register_long_arrays" needs to be set to "on"
  • to enable php-access to MS SQL-server: activated COM-class (php.net) for database access (alternatively a set up odbc-connection e.g. with FreeTDS to SQL Server) and one of the following php classes: mssql (php.net), sqlsrv (Microsoft SQl Server driver for php) or odbc (php.net). For any questions please contact us first or you provider.
  • Unicode-support: A windows server is needed to support unicode chars like cyrillic or japanese chars (Microsoft SQL Server)
  • SMTP server to relay authenticated emails

The automatic sync is set up as Microsoft SQL Server replication. Following prerequisites for use of Micosoft SQL Server database replication are given:

  • SQL Server in equal version as on intern Meffert Recruiter server
  • external access to database for replication (ports 1433 tcp and 1434 udp generally)

Using a SSL-certificate to improve the trust of your applicants or users is strongly recommended.
