System Requirements
The system requirements must be fulfilled for a working software installation of Meffert Recruiter. Please tell us the name of your system administrator for a system check.
If you order Meffert Recruiter we will assume that all requirements are checked and fulfilled by your system.
Requirements to your server
On your server will be installed „Microsoft SQL Server“. This software is the central database application.
Your server should have the following configuration:
- System requirements of Microsoft SQL Server
- Intel Pentium 4 or XEON with a minimum of 2,0 GHz.
- At least 1 GB RAM Memory, better are 2 or 4 GB RAM, (with Small Business Server or Exchangeserver at least 2 GB RAM).
- 3 GB free disk space for temporary installation files. 500 MB will be used for the installation.
- 1 to 20 GB free hard disk space for your data (depending on your needs).
- Windows Server 2003 or Windows Server 2008. ANSI charset.
Requirements to your clients
Meffert Recruiter will be installed to the client computers. The clients must get access to the database server!
- Necessary requirements are the same of Microsoft Office Version 2003
- Compatibility to Microsoft Outlook 2000, XP, 2003, 2007 and 2010 (32bit-version, use of 32bit is recommended by Microsoft: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee681792.aspx)
- A minimum of 512 MB RAM memory, better 1 GB RAM, (with Windows Vista at least 1 GB RAM)
- 500 MB free hard disk space
- VGA screen resolution of 1024 x 768 pixel
- Windows 2000 SP4, Windows XP from SP2, Windows Vista. ANSI charset.
- To enable creation of Word documents and export data to Excel, you need Word and Excel on the physical or virtual computer running Meffert Recruiter.
- Communicating with Outlook requires 32bit version of Outlook.
If you want to use the offline availability then you will need a database replication and the Microsoft SQL Server has to be installed to the client computer. In this case, your client has to fulfill the following additional requirements:
- System requirements of Microsoft SQL Server
- A minimum of 2 GB MB RAM memory, better 4 GB RAM.
- 3 GB free disk space for temporary installation files. 500 MB will be used for the installation.
- Windows XP Home will not be supportet.
- Free hard disk space for the hole database including documents.
Requirements to your network
Your operating systems and the network must be configured by an expert.
- The communication between client and database server requires the ports 1433 TCP and 1434 UDP opened (this is the default port; it is possible to change the ports).
- In case of usage of security tools (like personal firewalls, virus scanner, router) your system administrator is responsible that the requirements above are fulfilled.
- Meffert implements a standard installation of Microsoft SQL Server. The Windows system and network is out of scope of the Meffert services. If you need help in setup of printers, users, permissions, shares, firewalls, VPN etc. contact your system administrator. Meffert will work hand in hand with your system administrator but not create conflicts with each responsibility.
- The installation costs in this offer assume that your windows system and network are managed professionally and all requirements above are fulfilled. Please order our checklist if you need a guide to check your systems.
Backup
Your data must be backuped to an external device in a periodic way to ensure data lost in case of a system crash. During the installation of the Microsoft SQL Server by Meffert on your server, we will configure a professional database backup strategy by default. Every Sunday will be created a full backup. Each day a differential backup will be created and each full hour the transaction log will be backuped. We will save three backup medias. Each media is a file containing all backups of one week. In this concept we have a history of up to three weeks.
The three media files must be copied to an external device like tape, external hard disk or CD/DVD by your system administrator in a periodic way!
